Ronald Baxter Harrist 1936 - 2010
Loving husband, dedicated father, doting grandfather, accomplished statistician, adventurer, traveler, Master Gardener, wonderful chef, master swimmer, black belt in martial arts (started and completed after the age of 70!), yoga student, friend of parks, habitual woodworker, hiker, trivia master, respected teacher and mentor, lifelong student, nurturer of souls, stargazer, foster parent, punster, author, guitar player, builder of schools in Mexico, positive influence on many, respected colleagues. But mostly we will remember him as a kind and gentle man.

Please welcome Dr. Kelley Gabriel to the UTSPH Austin Regional Campus as an assistant professor in the division of Epidemiology, Human Genetics and Environmental Sciences. Dr. Gabriel is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and trained in Epidemiology. Most recently she was at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health as an assistant professor and was an associate member of the Eppley Cancer Center Cancer Prevention and Control Program. She is trained as a behavioral psychologist and received her PhD degree from the Department of Applied Behavioral Sciences at the University of Kansas. She is passionate about pursuing research which will promote the health and function of people with physical disabilities.

Please welcome Dr. Hui-Qi Qu to the UTSPH Brownsville Regional Campus as an assistant professor in the division of Epidemiology, Human Genetics and Environmental Sciences. Dr. Qu graduated from Tianjin Medical University in China. He comes to us from the Department of Human Genetics at McGill University in Quebec, Canada.
