Kelley Gabriel, PhD, MS

Please welcome Dr. Kelley Gabriel to the UTSPH Austin Regional Campus as an assistant professor in the division of Epidemiology, Human Genetics and Environmental Sciences. Dr. Gabriel is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and trained in Epidemiology. Most recently she was at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health as an assistant professor and was an associate member of the Eppley Cancer Center Cancer Prevention and Control Program.

Dr. Gabriel’s research interests include: Physical activity and inactivity measurement, particularly self-report measures; the relationship between physical (in)activity and chronic disease health outcomes (i.e., CVD, cancer) in middle-aged women and the physical (in)activity and developmental assets in girls. She is also interested in lifestyle interventions, particularly those involving physical activity, for primary chronic disease prevention.
