Online Giving

We are pleased to also offer the option of online giving in four areas which further the mission of the school to promote health and prevent disease through education, research and community service.

Dean’s Excellence Fund

Your investment in the Dean’s Excellence Fund at The UT School of Public Health is an investment in public health with a potential to touch millions of lives. The excellence fund allows the dean to seize unexpected opportunities as they arise. This may be assistance with expenses for student conference presentations or funds for innovative but unbudgeted research. The Dean’s Excellence Fund allows the flexibility necessary for our students and school to remain competitive and to maximize potentials. Your gift will help ensure a healthy future.

Student Scholarships

Your donation to scholarships ensures that the UT School of Public Health will attract exceptional students to serve as the future leaders in public health. We currently face a shortage of trained public health professionals who provide preventive care and early intervention in chronic or emerging disease. Your support means that qualified students can complete the graduate education and specialized training required of those committed to serving our communities even when the cost of graduate education may be beyond their personal means. A scholarship of $25,000 or more will be named in honor of the donor to forever acknowledge the commitment to student education and public health.

Student Assistance Fund

Your gift to the Student Assistance Fund assists masters and doctoral students in paying for the expense of conducting requisite thesis or dissertation research, presenting findings at conferences and necessary travel to professional meetings. At this important juncture in a student’s educational career as expenses mount as the goal of contributing to the quality of life is close at hand, your support is truly appreciated.

Innovative Research Fund

Effective treatment of hypertension may be customized through genetic research. An association has been discovered between diabetes and susceptibility to tuberculosis. Obesity is often a precursor of diabetes. Our school was selected to coordinate the national network of stem cell-related treatment of cardiovascular disease. The effect of air pollution on the health of Houstonians is reported to the mayor. These and many more discoveries are transforming our lives and promising an improved quality of life for us, our children and our grandchildren.

Your gift to the School of Public Health Research Fund provides initial funding for new research which will address current threats to our health. These early research results are important in competing for federal research grants, and your gift can provide the otherwise unavailable resources for innovation and public health advances.
